Sawgrass Technologies and Technotape International will debut a new production solution designed specifically for 3D sublimation at SGIA Expo 2017 in New Orleans on October 10-12. This completely optimised, turnkey solution for product decorators pairs Sawgrass’s Virtuoso HD Product Decorating Systems and new SubliJet-3D inks with Technotape’s sublimation ovens, 3D film and substrates.
“The industrial sector has been sublimating on to products with rounded edges for years,” said Vik Patel, Director of Business Development for Sawgrass.
“Technotape has been making this process more accessible to our customers, which is very exciting. We have been working with Techotape for the last year to develop a solution for incredible colour and quality exclusively for their products.”
This total solution aims to give product decorators everything they need to create high-quality 3D products for their customers. The new SubliJet-3D inks and colour profiles will work with all of the printers in Sawgrass’ Virtuoso HD Product Decorating System family: SG400, SG800 and VJ 628.
Technotape’s 3D Sublimation Oven is engineered to be compact and easy to use, while producing superior-quality products. Their films and substrates are also optimised for the nuances that make 3D sublimation unique.
“The new SubliJet-3D inks and coordinating profiles have been developed to provide the best possible output within this production environment with Technnotape’s 3D oven, film and substrates,” said Bonne Klein Woolthuis, CEO of Technotape. “They have been designed with high-volume customisation and personalisation applications in mind, while at the same time combining high quality and ease-of-use. We are delighted to show this new solution at SGIA 2017. “
Sawgrass will showcase SubliJet-3D inks at Booth 2975, while Technotape will display the complete system at Booth 2611. Visitors to the Technotape booth will be able to check out the 3D oven that has been a game changer this year, as well as Technotape’s TURBO Wrapper, a new production tool that applies sublimation paper to items such as mugs without worrying about paper position or alignment. The process evenly lays on a heat resistant silicone wrap with minimum effort enabling to wrap a mug in less than 10 seconds without any extra training or exceptional strength. The printed sublimation paper is placed in between four adjustable brass guide pins that ensure fast and flawless positioning relative to the mug.
