ColourProcess have been appointed as partners and Australian resellers of world-leading automation software from Callas Software and Gradual Software. PDF workflows can now automate tasks that until now have been manual and time consuming.

Creating PDF files, tracking down and sorting incoming files, pre-flighting and colour-correcting files, adjusting images, sending confirmation emails, creating proofs – all crucial but repetitive elements of a publishing workflow.

FullSWITCH 06, the core product of the SWITCH product line from Gradual Software, is ideally placed to help users reclaim the time to be creative. It is a robust automation product that is easy to install and use. While many workflow products require a complete change to the way we work, with FullSWITCH users can continue to use the applications they know and have come to trust.

FullSWITCH offers file reception through FTP and email, sorting of files based on file type and naming conventions and automatic email notifications to customers. In addition, FullSWITCH introduces configurators that allow third-party applications such as Adobe Creative Suite or Enfocus PitStop Server to be integrated easily in a flow.

ColourProcess is also proud to introduce pdfInspektor4 CLI, PDFCorrect CLI and pdfColorConvert CLI, three powerful pre-flight and colour correction products from Callas Software.

pdfInspektor 4 CLI provides printers, publishers and media services the possibility to check incoming PDF files for production suitability already at the file acceptance stage. More than 800 individual properties can be combined to check PDF files for their corresponding special usage beforehand and to quickly locate and remedy faults.  Also provides easily-parsed XML or ASCII reports for efficient machine analysis.

Another exceptional product from Callas Software, pdfColorConvert, provides publishers and newspaper printers with a rapid, robust and extremely comprehensive tool for colour-converting PDF documents. Thanks to device link profiles, this special tool can now adapt even better to the special requirements in newspaper production and conversion from ISOcoated to uncoated stock types.

This well-known product used for the professional colour conversion of PDF documents impresses with its easy use, high processing rate and versatility. This is why the special tool has become the essential support and troubleshooting resource for PDF colour management in many prepress agencies, printers and publishing houses. In fact, with just three PDF colour optimization settings – determining the original file’s colour space, establishing the target profile, and processing spot colours – you can carry out nearly every conceivable conversion. The key profiles for newspaper production, along with all the other important printing processes already exist, based on ISO standards.

PDFcorrect solves over 60 different production problems in PDF files, for example it thickens hairlines, modifies overprinting features and can remove CMYK profiles, OPI comments and a lot more. It also adjusts about 80 different PDF features: reduction of image resolution, setting of the initial view, inserts meta data, etc.

When used as part of a combined solution, FullSWITCH 06 and pdfInspektor, pdfColorConvert and PDFConnect offer an unrivalled opportunity to automate image file management workflows, offering significant improvements in terms of efficiency and accuracy.

ColourProcess will be exhibiting the new products from Callas Software and Gradual Software at PrintEx07. Take a look at Stand 3417, Hall 6 from May 24-26.
