The Océ Arizona 250 GT UV-cured flatbed printer won top honours in the recent Innovation Awards at the Viscom International Trade Fair in Germany, being described by judges as “a truly innovative product”.

The printer won first prize in the Large Format Digital Printing category, with judges singling out Océ-patented VariaDot technology enabling the print heads to produce dots of variable size rather than traditional fixed-droplet.  The VariaDot technology allowed for very high image quality, the judges stated.

The judging panel was composed of editors of European printing trade journals and industry representatives with an emphasis on “innovative power”.

Commenting on the honour, Océ Product Manager for Display Graphics and Imaging Supplies, Adrian Morris, said it reinforced the Océ values of output quality, reliability, productivity and user-friendliness.

“Response to the Océ Arizona 250 GT in Australia has been very positive,” Morris said.

The award follows previous recognition for the Arizona in the Specialty Graphics Imaging Association's Annual Convention and Trade Show where it received the Digital Printing & Imaging Association (DPI) Vision Award.

The judging panel recognised the Arizona as “the new digital imaging product development most likely to have a profound and positive effect on the industry.”
