Mutoh eco solvent ink now in orange

Mutoh Industries has released a new orange colour for the MS41 ink used in its XpertJet 1682SR, a dual printhead high-speed inkjet printer.

“These new innovations reflect our ongoing goal to help wide- and superwide-format print customers deliver the very best possible prints as quickly as possible,” the company said. The new Fiery software and proServer digital front end now have added support for more than 180 new printer drivers from Agfa, Canon, d.gen, Durst, HP, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland DG, and Teckwin among others.

Kodak to introduce Ascend digital press for POP, cartons and signage

A natural evolution of Kodak's NexPress and NexFinity digital toner presses has been announced under the name 'Ascend.' The revered Kodachrome brand re-emerges as 'dry ink' and not the diapositive colour film lauded by Paul Simon in his 70s song 'Kodachrome.' Ascend is packed with embellishing features and, with a max. sheet length of 1.22 metres, will find applications in POP and Signage as well as cartons, says the company.

Date locked in for PICA and NPA celebrations

Spicers’ prices up 8% on all print & packaging products 

Spicers will increase pricing on commercial print, digital, packaging, PSL (sheets & rolls), and narrow web products by 8% across the board from Wednesday, 1 December. “This increase is a necessity for our business and has been averaged out across our Print & Packaging product portfolio, including locally manufactured material,” the company said. This represents Spicers' fourth increase in 2021.

Mandatory vaccination deadline for VIC authorised workers

Authorised workers in Victoria must have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by next Friday October 15, and two doses by November 26, in order to continue working on site.  All manufacturing workers are considered authorised.
