Screen GP’s Peter Scott has invited label printers from Australia and New Zealand to the company’s stand at this month’s four-day Labelexpo Europe show in Brussels, where Screen will feature its popular Truepress Jet label printers and preview an all-new 7-colour, 80 m/min model, the L350-SAI.

“The company will showcase how label converters can increase productivity and boost revenues with its flagship digital label presses at Labelexpo Europe 2019 (Hall 9, Stand 9B30),” said Scott, managing director of Screen GP Australia, who confirmed he’ll be at the event to welcome ANZ visitors.

“With market-leading uptime, virtually no set-up time and speeds of 60 metres per minute, the Truepress Jet L350UV+ and the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM provide unparalleled productivity. By maximising throughput label producers can ultimately boost revenues and enhance business operations.”

There will be live demonstrations so Labelexpo visitors can observe the unrivalled speeds first-hand, alongside the high-quality achievable with the L350UV+ series through a variety of application examples. This includes self-adhesive labels, pouches, bottle wraps, pharmaceutical labels and cosmetic boxes.

Workflow automation is also a major feature with CERM, Hybrid and OneVision on hand to demonstrate how their respective software can be integrated with the Screen EQUIOS workflow solution which comes with the L350UV label press series.

ANZ label printers will also get a first look at Screen’s recently launched blue ink, used with the Truepress Jet L350UV+.  “With almost 30 percent of brands now incorporating blue ink into their corporate colours or logos, label producers can quickly recreate even the most vivid blue tones in record time – a must when it comes to impressing big-brand clients,” Scott said.

For food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical packaging, the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM incorporates low-migration ink. This enables label producers to quickly and cost-effectively produce premium quality safe labels and comply with stringent food and pharmaceutical regulations.

“Screen has now shipped around 150 digital label presses worldwide, with six in Australia and New Zealand sold by Screen and our channel partner Jet Technologies,” said Scott. “There will be further exciting announcements during the show. Both Jet and I extend a warm welcome to all ANZ visitors to come and say hello at Labelexpo.”

BREAKING NEWS - New 80 m/hr 7-colour Screen label press to be launched at Labelexpo

The new press features improved colour reproduction, more speed and superior scalability that enables it to meet a wide variety of market needs.

The worldwide commercial release will commence in February 2020.

“The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI model represents the latest advances in the L350 series since its introduction in 2014,” says Screen GP Australia managing director, Peter Scott. “The suffix ‘SAI’ means ‘Stability, Accuracy and Integration’ – with the word ‘Sai’ also meaning ‘colourful’ in Japanese. This is a major step for digital label production as additional slots for printheads are onboard, meaning Orange, Blue and White inks can be added to the wide-gamut CMYK inkset.

“Overall colour management has been developed in collaboration with CGS Publishing Technologies International GmbH of Germany. These technologies provide a far wider range of colour expression than was previously possible, increasing Pantone coverage and reducing colour differences with specific spot colours. CGS has been a leader in colour management for over twenty years, with its ORIS proofing systems enjoying considerable success in the ANZ region.”

Four scalable variants of the L350 SAI will be available, E for entry-level, S for Standard and the flagship Z model for highest speed of 80 linear metres per hour. There will also be an LM version using low-migration inks specifically for food packaging applications.

“We, and our dealer partner Jet Technologies, are very excited about this latest evolution of the successful L350UV label press line,” says Scott. “The features really respond to market requirements and we can point to more than 150 presses shipped to customers worldwide, many of who have ordered a second or even a third machine. As with all Screen technologies, quality and integrity of the build is high, uptime is of the highest in the industry and image quality is superb.”

Screen and Jet Technologies welcome all visitors to Labelexpo Europe to see for themselves on stand B30 in Hall 9 of Brussels Expo, Belgium, from 24-27 September.
