“This is a call out to any Australian Hospitals in need of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) equipment and ventilator masks during the Covid Crisis,” Port Melbourne company Seen Technology (formerly Omus) posted on Facebook.

“Composite Images snapped into action after PPE shortages were reported in Australia and NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian asked for businesses who were able to adjust their current manufacturing capabilities to produce PPE products to do so.

“We have created prototypes in our Sydney premises and the Massivit 3D team in Israel have already begun providing emergency workers with face shields utilising the same technology as Composite Images to produce them."

Composite Images is able to produce 150-200 face shields per day in its Sydney facilities.

"All possible precautions have been taken to adhere to social distancing and limited person-to-person contact at our work premises," it says.

“We are ready to take orders for our face shields so please share this with anyone who may benefit from our face shields, we are so glad to be able to provide help during this challenging time.”

A statement from Massivit 3D said: “By dedicating resources and mobilizing a network of over 100 customers and distributors worldwide, high quality, ergonomic PPE Face Shields have been conceived and produced to address the urgent demand by medical teams caring for the victims of the pandemic.

“In addition to devoting its manufacturing resources to producing and donating thousands of face shields to medical teams at local hospitals with a less than one-day turnaround, the company has also made available the optimized 3D print files of the newly developed face shields.”

Customers who participate in the initiative have also been guaranteed a donation of printing gel by Massivit 3D.

The 3D print files - based on an original design by Art Nzo’s Twan Kerckhofs - as well as the screen cutting file and instructions are available for download from the Massivit 3D website at: https://massivit3d.com/markets/massivit-3d-personal-protective-equipment/ - and can be 3D printed locally on any Massivit 3D printer.

“We became aware of the dire shortage of personal protective equipment worldwide and the urgent need to help medical teams protect themselves,” said Massivit CEO, Erez Zimerman. “Our team is proud to be able to offer significant help during this difficult period. All our efforts are now dedicated to this cause. We are mobilizing all our resources towards the new PPE Face Shields so that our network of customers can help battle the COVID-19 pandemic as a united global force.”
