Large Format is one of 32 categories in this year’s Print Industry Creativity Awards (PICAs), which run in each state with the winners going on to compete in the National Print Awards, to be presented this year during PacPrint 2021 in Melbourne on Thursday 30 September.

Design, print, finishing and other industry businesses have just weeks to get their entries in for this year’s PICAs, with entries due to close on Friday, 30 April, say the organisers.

“Entries are already flowing in but we know how people like to leave things to the last minute,” says Robyn Frampton, marketing & communications manager, Visual Connections Australia. “A bit of preparation is always a good thing if you want to give yourself the best chance of glory!

“Entrants can choose from 32 categories which cover a wide variety of print processes and products, recognise personal and business achievements, and give a nod to the creatives and campaign strategists who create beautiful and successful print pieces,” Frampton says.

The Printer of the Year Large Format category is for work printed on any substrate using any printing method. It includes pull up banners, indoor visual, building banners, bus shelter signage, real estate signage, etc.

The PICAs, which run in each State, have long celebrated the achievement of excellence in print in all its forms, as well as recognising the people and businesses behind these examples of ‘print perfection’.

Full details of this year’s categories, together with entry details and forms, can be found at www.printingawards.com.au

The state PICAs and the National Print Awards are presented and co-hosted by the Print & Visual Communications Association (PVCA) and Visual Connections.

State awards will be held weekly during July, kicking off with SA on Friday 2nd, Victoria on Friday 9th, NSW Friday 16th, Queensland on Friday 23rd and WA on Saturday 31st.

Those who win Gold at the State level are then automatically entered to vie for national honours, which will this year be recognised at the 38th National Print Awards presentation dinner, held during PacPrint 2021 in Melbourne on Thursday 30 September.
