The fake email claimed to be from Mimaki’s “Accounting Department,” with the subject line, “Reminder: Unpaid notice." It advised the unidentified Mimaki dealer:

“Please do confirm the status of your Due/Outstanding invoices for reconciliation purposes with the total amount and corresponding due dates as there has been a new development in our company.

Kindly hold off on payment till you get our new payment information from us.”

Mimaki Australia has advised its customers not to reply to any similar emails:

“Please note, one of our dealers received the email below, this is a scam, we have not changed our email address (accounts.au@mimaki.com), account details or accounts manager name (Hiromi Clark).

“If you receive this fake email, do not reply and please let us know.”
