World class business tools for the digital print market are now available to the region courtesy of strategic agreement reached between PODi (Print on Demand Initiative), based in the USA and the Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia.

Print service providers, creatives and digital print vendors in Australia, New Zealand and the near Pacific will have local access to PODi resources including its’ online library of over 300 case studies of “Best Practice” in digital print. PODi’s highly popular Value Calculators, Sales Accelerator Tools and Compensation matrix will be included in the PODi Australia New Zealand membership. GASAA will add local content by using the proven PODi research templates, with appropriate modifications for regional factors.

Garry Knespal, GASAA Executive Officer, returning from the highly successful 6th PODi Application Forum in Los Angeles said of the joint venture “GASAA’s exclusive access to the full range of PODi resources will greatly assist both creative and service providers to maximise the benefits and opportunities presented by digital printing. GASAA’s already strong reputation for delivering highly relevant technology updates will be complimented by the strong business applications approach adopted by PODi”

Rab Govil, President of PODi and Caslon & Company - its research and management partner said “We have been interested in promoting the work of PODi through regional license arrangements and in Garry Knespal and GASAA we have the ideal partner for our first international agreement. Their wide industry reach and strong commitment to innovative programs will ensure we are able to deliver consistent and highly relevant services, and with a distinctly Australasian flavour” “Our staff of analysts, educators and consultants are very excited about working with GASAA leading up to our first Application Forum outside of the USA, scheduled for Sydney later in the year” he confirmed.

GASAA President, Michael Jones (CDM Print) on behalf of his Executive expressed delight in bringing PODi to Australia and the region. “As a full digital print services provider I know it’s not about the quality of the product these days, it’s all about appropriate business applications. PODi Australia New Zealand will provide us with the tools we need to assist customers in deciding to use more digital print to improve their sales. With the help of GASAA and PODi resources we can all work together to sell value printing, and move away from commodity pricing models.” he said.

Ghilad Dziesietnik (EFI) and PODi Chairman said “our Board is very supportive of this first international initiative and we have confidence in Rab Govil and Garry Knespal to deliver world-class digital print advisory services in the region”.

Garry Knespal said “in the lead-up to PrintEx07 more details of Podi Australia New Zealand will be rolled out.”
