Printers using Océ’s Arizona 250 GT wide format UV flatbed printer may soon be able to produce low-cost lenticular 3D and 2D animated printing.

This follows certification of the Arizona printer by Humaneyes Technologies to use the company’s Printpro 2.0 lenticular software, enabling production of lenticular and Lensfree effects prints.

Lensfree, which is now incorporated into Printpro 2.0 software for digital flatbed UV wide format printing, enables 3D effects and 2D animation to be printed directly onto glass or acrylic (plexiglas).

The certification marks the first step in the cooperation between the two companies to promote lenticular opportunities among Océ's flatbed customers.

Using Humaneyes’ Printpro 2.0 production tools suite, printers can open, modify and make final adjustments to effects and colours prior to printing end files, which have been created by designers using Creative3D.

Printpro 2.0 maximises printers' productivity and profitability by making lenticular production predictable and efficient.

Adrian Morris, Product Manager for Display Graphics for Océ-Australia Limited, says: "The Océ Arizona 250 GT machine coupled with Printpro 2.0 software offers print providers the opportunity to fully explore the exciting capabilities of lenticular printing on multiple substrates, as well as increase their margins by expanding services.

“As the Océ Arizona 250 GT is a flatbed printer with a very high print resolution and high geometric accuracy, it offers commercial printers real flexibility with this additional ability to print using either a thin lenticular lens or this new Lensfree technology.

“By adding lenticular printing to Océ Arizona output it will create enormous opportunities for print companies and help them improve print profitability

"Humaneyes' quality products fit well with our philosophy for the Océ Arizona 250 GT.

“Lenticular imaging is a distinctive and attention-grabbing method of visual communication requiring not only extremely high quality print output but also consistent repeatability.

“Océ customers will appreciate the ability to offer this unique application to their clients. This certification assures an enhanced level of compatibility and quality assurance that our customers expect."
