Nope, I had never heard of them before either!! NoeCha is an Italian manufacturer that is having had some success in Italy since it launched its first machine exactly one year ago. Now it is targeting the rest of Europe and the world.

"NoeCha1 is a digital flatbed printer offering such a high quality at production speeds certainly represents a great market opportunity, not only within the graphic arts market but also in the industrial markets. ” said Marco Baio, founder of NoeCha. “The machine has been designed with a special attention to mechanical precision. We have selected the best performing components and applied the highest level of precision, as we understood that this was the only way to achieve a very high quality print at very fast speeds. This is also the reason why we feel comfortable to offer 3 years warranty,” added Marco Baio.

The specs are quite impressive:
A 3.2 metre wide flatbed x 2 metre
The maximum print speed is 700sqm/hour using Kyocera piezo drop-on-demand heads printing at 600x600dpi native resolution. NoeCha stated that the apparent resolution is 1200 dpi photo realistic quality. Four greyscale levels from 3pl to 14pl.
UV-LED inks in 12.5 litre tanks
4 colours (C.M.Y.K) plus  4 optional (White (before and after),Varnish, orange, green, violet)
Max medi thickness - 125mm

It seems the big selling point, if the above specs are not impressive enough is the cost of ink usage. The company is claiming A$.59 per square metre using its own inks.

Five configurations are available with prices starting at about A$600,000. The comapny says that the market is anywhere where high quality print is required and amazing speeds.
