The Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) held the NSW event of the ASGA Wrap Challenge at the Visual Impact show on May 14th. The three contenders were Funky Car Skins from Queanbeyan, Excel Visual Solutions from Wheeler Heights and Bear Designs from Moorebank.

Bear Designs took out the prize for this sector of the competition and they will meet up at the Grand Final in September.

Brett East set up his Moorebank company Bear Designs in 1991 having worked in the industry for the previous five years. He has a staff of five, and John Lopez and Marc Langford will once again join Brett in the wrap master challenge for a second time.

Brett says “we specialise in wrapping cars, boats, trucks and buses”.

The company won the Gold Medal at the ASGA 2010 and 2012 Awards Event in the Full Vehicle wrap category and the Silver Medal in the same category in 2014. Following their 2012 win, Bear Designs represented Australia in the Trans-Tasman wrap competition in New Zealand. In last year¹s inaugural wrap Master Challenge, Bear Designs won the NSW final and then finished a very close third in the National Final.

“We were stoked to make that final”,says Brett,”and with a mix of both youth and experience in our side we will be ready to compete again with some of the best vehicle graphic installers around. A great effort has been undertaken by the sponsors of this event, AVS, 3M, Roland and of course ASGA who have organised such a fantastic event again, and hopefully by the end of the contest it will be Bear Designs who will come out on top”.
