After initially being postponed to September, Sydney’s annual outdoor display extravaganza Vivid Sydney has been cancelled for a second consecutive year.

The NSW government said the decision was made due to ongoing uncertainty around the event this year and to minimise the impact on attendees, artists, partners, sponsors and suppliers. The event has been rescheduled to return in 2022 (May 27-June 18).
“As we work together to contain the current outbreak and get our community vaccinated, we can all look forward to the return of major events like Vivid Sydney that bring us together in celebration,” said NSW Tourism Minister Stuart Ayres.
The event had been due to start on August 6 but was rescheduled till mid-September due to the lockdown.
Ticketholders should contact relevant ticketing agents to discuss options. For Vivid Sydney-owned events such as Game Changers and New Horizons, tickets will be refunded. The 2020 event was also cancelled.
The global spike in Covid-19 variant cases also forced Konica Minolta to postpone its US Dealer Summit due to take place this month.
Digital and screen printing fair DS Printech China has also been postponed, with a new date expected to be announced shortly.
