A new Management Information System (MIS) from Printer’s Choice is set to help signage businesses streamline their administration, run their businesses more effectively and, most importantly, free up vital resources to concentrate on production.

The new product, “Printer’s Choice for Sign”, will be released during PrintEx11 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour from 4-6 May, and will be demonstrated on the company’s stand 5404, located near the walk-through from PrintEx to the co-located Visual Impact Image Expo (VIIE).

According to Jerry Van Dyk from Printer’s Choice, the new software solution draws on the company’s extensive experience and expertise across all areas of print and graphic communications, bringing together the best of its existing offerings with some special extras designed especially for sign businesses.

“Printer’s Choice software and business solutions have been around for well over a decade and we have a very successful history in the print and related industries,” Van Dyk says.

“Now, after careful planning and consultation with key sign writing businesses, we have developed what we believe to be the most dedicated, practical and sophisticated software solution ever produced for the sign writing industry, offering business owners total job and business management in one, totally integrated and easy to use package.”

The flexible new system is a Windows-based package which can be configured to suit individual business needs. Modules cover all management areas from quoting and responding to requests, to job and project management, ordering, inventory and stock control, accounting and cash management, employee management and even appointments.

“With Printer’s Choice for Sign the hours spent by business owners producing quotes will be a thing of the past,” says Van Dyk. “Creating quotes and responding to client requests is quick, efficient and accurate and the system will even tell you how much money you’re making on each job, right up front. Plus, jobs can be co-ordinated separately or organised into projects for more streamlined management and invoicing.

“It’s simple to turn a quote into a job with just the click of a button, with no re-keying necessary, all job data is kept together so data is easily accessible at all times, and you can back-cost the job easily using data collected with time sheets or via touch screens on your production equipment.

“Added to this is the ability to link the system’s fully integrated accounts package to existing software, providing easy management without the need to re-enter existing information.”

The new package also features an all-new, easy to use ‘Signcutting’ operation which provides accurate and flexible management of signage jobs.

“With Signcutter, signies can let the computer work out the material, cutting, weeding and application or manually override the result to produce customised results,” Van Dyk says, “so it’s the perfect solution for any business in the signage and display area.”
Importantly, installation, set up and training are included in the price and ongoing support from this well known and experienced company is available by phone, online or by remote access, as well as on site.

“We’re excited about the release of this important new package and are looking forward to welcoming print and sign producers to our stand at PrintEx11 to see ‘in action’ the many updates and improvements we’ve added to our suite of products recently, including these important sign and display features,” says Van Dyk.
