The winners of 2011 Digital and Screen Print Awards were honoured at a gala night in the spectacular Crystal Ballroom at Luna Park Sydney on Saturday 29 October.
Over 200 people from all sections on the printing industry celebrated a night of fun and entertainment while awards where celebrated across 23 diverse categories.

SGIAA President, Clem Johnson said
“The judging criteria adopted by SGIAA is very stringent and if the criteria is not met it may happen that Gold, Silver and Bronze are not awarded in all categories “
Clem went on to say “With our inaugural ‘Peoples Choice Award” hosted on Facebook it is the vision of the federal board to be adaptable to change and by embracing new technologies such as social media networking we are potentially reaching areas that are new and exciting for the SGIAA”
New Zealand companies were again strongly represented in the awards with Original Print taking the prestigious President’s award in the Screen Printing Category and Admark Visual Imaging receiving the President’s Awards for Digital Print.
A highlight of the night was the awarding of Life Membership of SGIAA for Bill Porteous. Bill has worked tirelessly in public office for the SGIAA at both regional and Federal level since 1997. Bill accepted his award with emotion, thanking the SGIAA and passionately reflecting on his belief in the SGIAA and how it brings the industry together.
With the formalities out of the way guests were entertained by stage hypnotist Steven Spellmaster and 15 brave volunteers in a memorable show. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing to leading covers band Atomic, or socialising outside with colleagues in a beautiful setting overlooking Sydney harbour.
