Queensland’s Kwik Kopy Brisbane Group has achieved a first for Printing Industries’ Sustainable Green Print (SGP) program by being the first to achieve multi-site accreditation at SGP Level 2. Kwik Kopy Brisbane has four sites in the inner Brisbane area at Fortitude Valley (offset printing), Elizabeth Street (digital), Ann St and Toowong (both sales and small volume design and production).

Managing Director Ashley Petfield said Sustainable Green Print had given Kwik Kopy Brisbane the opportunity to identify, measure and manage its environmental impacts through an environmental management system that is printing industry specific while being aligned with ISO14001.

“SGP Level 2 sets us up with an ISO-based environmental policy, management structure, procedures to address our legal requirements, measurement and benchmarking procedures for waste management across all of our sites, energy management and incident response procedures,” he said.

“Our close adherence to the international standard positions us well for future progression to SGP Level 3 and ISO14001 accreditation”.

The independent multi-site audit process was carried out by Compliance Australia Certification Services Pty Ltd.

Kwik Kopy Brisbane is the latest in a growing number of printing businesses that have achieved SGP accreditation and this number is set to grow significantly as more companies complete the implementation phase following Printing Industries workshops.
