Eighteen months after the installation of its second HP Scitex FB7500, Magnify Media - one of Australia’s premier and fastest growing digital large format printers - has signed for the new HP Scitex FB7600 at drupa 2012. This brings the total number of HP commercial and industrial machines operated by the company to 12.

The investment of the third unit was driven by Magnify Media’s growth planning strategies as well as the company’s strong commitment to ensuring that their current and expanding customer base is always fully catered for.

John Duplock, Managing Director, Magnify Media said, “Magnify Media was built on service excellence and this will always be our company credo. We do not let our customers down”.

He continued. “Service incorporates a raft of components that are all equally important. It’s not just about being able to print digitally. It is ensuring your end-to-end customer approach is based on real deliverables each and every day. Our mandate of total customer satisfaction is based on ensuring all the components are in place, monitored and reviewed regularly”.

A major part of this strategy for Magnify Media includes the analysis of overall customer needs when considering further investment in print technology. “While we are proud to be a major HP print house, we still took the time to look at all offerings when considering this investment. There are some strong technology players out there with good equipment. However again it came down to all facets of the investment, not just the printer. The all round offering of the HP option again ticked all the boxes,” said Duplock.

Shane Lucas, Director, HP Graphic Arts South Pacific said Magnify Media showed great leadership in its approach towards continued investment, in both technology and people. “HP and Magnify Media share similar philosophies. Both companies are committed to developing solutions that can enable our customers to excel in their marketplaces. Magnify Media’s investment is directly influenced by its mandate to work with its customers to help them meet their objectives and lead the market”.

Since its inception in 2002 Magnify Media has experienced year-on-year growth. “Ten years ago we started with two HP Designjet large format printers and today we are one of the biggest, if not the biggest, HP Scitex house in this region,” said Duplock. He revealed that the company’s turnover grew 70 percent in the last financial year. “We’ve set a very aggressive target to achieve this year and an even higher bar for customer satisfaction”.

Magnify Media produces a broad range of retail POS/POP materials including posters, die cut displays and in-store display units for a national client base. Duplock said the new machine would be used to produce the high volume of corflute work the company is attracting. Recently Magnify Media completed a job that involved a run of 3,000 variable data sheets. “Each print had different content and was printed on different media. Variable data and the range of substrates we can use definitely give us an edge. That is one of the true benefits of this HP Scitex technology”.

The new machine will be installed at the company’s Richmond headquarters, but Duplock said the company is in the process of looking for new premises to enable it to continue to meet its service directive. “Further streamlining our workflow in pre and post press, and also in logistics is a priority”.

In addition to the HP Scitex FB7500 and 7600 Industrial Printers, Magnify Media also operates two HP Scitex Turbojets, an HP Scitex FB700 and FB500 and two HP Designjet L26500 Latex Ink machines.

At drupa Duplock also remarked on the HP Indigo 10000 technology. “I think the B2 size for packaging is fantastic and I am interested in watching this space. It’s a very impressive machine, and if it can benefit our customers all the better, but I’ll reserve comment on that for now”.
